This thesis deals with the design, implementation and application of deep learning approaches in the context of analysing musical signals, towards discovering musical genres, as well as underlying styles, emotions and patterns. In addition, the core of the thesis will be in using supervised and unsupervised models that extract information from the musical signals to build and evaluate music retrieval and music visualisation systems.
