The WiCom Laboratory of the Institute of Informatics and Telecommunications has developed significant infrastructure and know-how regarding methodologies, organization and processing of electromagnetic radiation measurements. The laboratory’s antenna measurement facilities include an RF-shielded fully Anechoic Chamber used for far-field antenna measurements.

The Anechoic Chamber (RF-shielded)

A fully anechoic room used as a far-field measurements test site. The internal dimensions of the chamber (before installation of absorbers) are 10m(long) x 5m(width) x 5m(height). The level of RF shielding is better than 80dB. The measurement distance is 5 m and the frequency range covered is 0.5 - 40 GHz. The measuring equipment includes Vector Network Analyzer (300 kHz - 9 GHz), Spectrum Analyzer (9 kHz – 40 GHz), RF signal Generators (5 kHz – 40 GHz) and various sets of reference antennas (from 80 MHz up to 40 GHz). For the positioning of the AUT (Antenna Under Test) a roll-over-azimuth system is used with a low profile turntable.
