CIL | Computational Intelligence Laboratory

The Computational Intelligence Laboratory (CIL) is one of the six laboratories of the Institute of Informatics and Telecommunications which is part of the National Center for Scientific Research “Demokritos”, the largest research center in applied sciences and engineering in Greece. CIL’s main task is to undertake research and development activities in the area of intelligent and adaptive learning systems.

CIL was founded in 2002 as a continuation of the former “Artificial Neural Networks Laboratory” which has been conducting research in selected strategic sectors of computational intelligence (neural networks and intelligent image processing) for more than a decade.

CIL’s main Research Activities are:

  • Machine Learning and deep learning
  • Document processing and understanding
  • Multimodal video analysis
  • Speech Analytics
  • Music information retrieval
  • Medical imaging
