BioHIT of SKEL | The AI Lab of Institute of Informatics & Telecommunications, presented the tool CRISPRedict in various events.
On 19 July 2022 BioHIT participated in the 28th Summer School “Dynamical Systems and Complexity” in Chania, Crete Greece which focuses on integrability, non-linear systems, chaotic dynamics, fractal geometry, complex networks and complex systems, as well as their applications in Neurosciences, Biology, Physics, Earth Sciences, Technology and Economics. The event provided a platform for talks by young researchers on contemporary topics such as Machine Learning.
During the summer school, Mr. Vassilis Konstantakos presented the talk entitled “CRISPRedict: The case for simple and interpretable efficiency prediction for CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing“.
On July 29, during the Delivery of Antisense RNA Therapeutics (DARTER) Meeting in Bilbao, Spain Mr. Konstantakos presented the talk titled “Bringing AI to gene therapy – A case for CRISPR/Cas9”. The talk discusses networking and capacity-building of nucleic acid drugs targeting RNA so as to reach their full potential and become an important therapeutic option.
