AI4TRUST project partners from across Europe, including Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Spain, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, met in Thessaloniki (Greece) for a two-day plenary meeting, held on 25-26 September 2023.
This intensive face-to-face gathering allowed partners to delve into and share their collective knowledge, discuss recent objectives and goals, and ultimately establish a plan of action for the coming months and included informative presentations, engaging discussions, proactive workshops, and round table sessions to align needs.
The primary aim of the project is to combat misinformation and disinformation within the European Union. This objective is to be achieved through the establishment of a trust-based environment that combines automated monitoring of social and news media with advanced AI technologies to support human fact-checkers.
Such events serve to strengthen teamwork and efforts behind a project like AI4TRUST, which seeks to establish a trustworthy online environment by involving researchers, media practitioners, and policymakers. The project aims ultimately to facilitate the creation and dissemination of trustworthy information and counter narratives while also identifying and countering misinformation and disinformation.
