Dr. Anastasia Krithara, Head of the BioHIT team and researcher at the Institute of Informatics & Telecommunications of NCSR Demokritos, participated in the event “Data & Artificial Intelligence in Health: First Findings – The Great Perspective”, held on 11 March, 2026, at CERTH in Thessaloniki. The event was organized by INAB/CERTH in collaboration with Cisco and with the support of the General Hospital of Thessaloniki “Papageorgiou”, bringing together key stakeholders from research, healthcare, and industry.
Dr. Krithara contributed to the session “Health Data & Artificial Intelligence”, engaging in discussions on the role of AI in shaping the future of data-driven healthcare.
During her intervention, she highlighted the pivotal role of artificial intelligence in leveraging diverse biomedical data to advance disease understanding and support optimized clinical trial design. She also emphasized the importance of trustworthy and collaborative digital health solutions, built on interoperable and high-quality data.
She further underlined that transforming health data into actionable knowledge requires strong synergies among research institutions, hospitals, and technology providers, identifying such collaborations as key drivers of innovation and improved healthcare services.
