The FRONT Research Group participated in this year’s EUCNC 2025 in Poznań, with Dr Harilaos Koumaras contributing an Expert Talk on “AI and Trustworthiness” during the workshop “6G Architecture Blueprint and Key Innovations: A European Perspective.”

Dr Koumaras’ talk addressed a central challenge in the evolution of next-generation networks: the integration of trust into AI-driven infrastructures. His presentation examined key aspects of transparency, security and reliability, emphasising the need for accountable and robust AI mechanisms within future 6G architectures.

During the event, Dr Harilaos Koumaras met with Silvia Almagia, Director of Software and Standards at ETSI, and Dr Fofy Setaki, Principal Scientist at the OTE Group of Companies (HTO).

The meetings focused on the evolution of core Service Delivery Gateways (SDGs) emerging within the SNS research framework, including OpenCAPIF—the open Common API Framework designed to support secure and interoperable service exposure—and OpenPlatform, a cloud-native environment enabling AI-driven network orchestration and experimentation.

These exchanges underscored the strengthening of collaboration in areas such as standardisation, edge–cloud interoperability and AI-enabled vertical applications, reaffirming the FRONT Research Group’s active role in the ongoing advancement of Europe’s digital infrastructure and its contribution to the development of next-generation 6G technologies.
