In July, Dr Harilaos Koumaras from the FRONT Research Group participated in a technical workshop held in Brussels, where he presented the latest extensions of the Athens B5G/6G Experimentation Platform developed in the context of the 6G-VERSUS project.

The workshop highlighted new tools currently being integrated into the outdoor testbed environment, incorporating advanced digital twin capabilities to support realistic dataset generation and AI model training. These developments enable experimenters to accurately mirror physical settings, optimise data flows, and assess intelligent network behaviour under real-world conditions.

Discussions focused on how these enhancements reinforce key research objectives, particularly in zero-touch automation, resilience evaluation and predictive analytics for emerging 6G services. The continuous evolution of the Athens platform underscores its role as a comprehensive experimentation ecosystem, effectively bridging physical infrastructure with virtual modelling to support next-generation network research.
