The Institute of Informatics & Telecommunications (IIT) participated in the Scientific Committee of the 1st Panhellenic Student Artificial Intelligence Competition, organised by the Archimedes Unit of the Athena Research Center, in collaboration with the Greek Computer Society (EPY), the Hellenic Artificial Intelligence Society (EETN), and the Institute of Educational Policy (IEP).
The main objective of the competition was to expand and deepen the knowledge of middle and high school students in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI), while fostering a nationwide ecosystem of collaboration, learning and excellence.
Students from across Greece had the opportunity to showcase their AI skills and compete with other talented peers. Through this process, participants not only enhanced their critical thinking but also engaged with innovative techniques and developed creative AI-based solutions.
In the final phase of the competition, titled “Pandora”, 90 students qualified from all over the country. Among them, 25% received distinctions for their outstanding performance, while four students were selected to form Greece’s first National Artificial Intelligence Team, which will represent the country in upcoming international events.
