On Tuesday 21 June 2022 took place the online conference STEM Education: Preparing Young People for a Changing World, where Dr Athanasios Drigas, head of the Net Media Lab & Mind-Brain R&D of IIT, participated with a talk titled Industry 4.0, STEM, 21st Century Skills and Challenges in General and Special Education.
The event was addressed to education officials and teachers of Primary and Secondary Education. STEM education is an interdisciplinary approach that applies inquiry practices in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics subjects, enhancing students’ critical thinking. All sciences complement and support each other and all together are integrated into a coherent learning paradigm, based on real-world applications and real problem solving contributing to integrated education. The training session aimed to inform on the design and implementation of STEM education programs, engage the education community, and prepare young people for an ever-changing world.
