The Researchers’ Night is a Europe-wide public event, funded under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions, that takes place annually and celebrated its 15 years in 2020.
This year’s edition of Researchers’ Night was held only virtually through live streaming, due to Covid-19 limitations, and was released in 29 countries, on Friday 27 November 2020. The event showcases the diversity of science and its impact on citizens’ daily lives, stimulating interest in research careers – particularly among young people. This year the National Technical University of Athens organised the event in Athens, broadcasting 200 videos of Universities’ research teams, research centres, schools, collaborating bodies and sponsors.
IIT participated in the event presenting a video that was produced in the context of the EU H2020 project iASiS, which concluded his activities in June 2020 and was coordinated by the SKEL laboratory. iASiS seeks to pave the way for precision medicine approaches by utilising insights from patient data. Using Artificial Intelligence, medical data turn into useful knowledge for healthcare to enable more personalised diagnosis and treatment approaches in two disease areas – lung cancer and Alzheimer’s disease.
