The national project COSMOS | Cultural Osmosis Mythology & Art was presented during NEM Summit 2020| B’Smart – European Media Science and Technology Meets Arts which was held as a virtual event from 30 June to 2 July 2020.
Dr. Stelios Thomopoulos, Head of the Integrated Systems Laboratory (ISL) and Scientific Director of the project talked about its’ application capabilities. (view description here).
The project deals with Greek mythology and the related works of Art. Taking a step beyond the usual practice of the linear narration of the myths, COSMOS proposes a new, dynamic way of depicting and narrating mythology, by linking the information contained therein. At the same time, it is a means of preserving, rescuing, and disseminating these fascinating “stories”, with the capability of extending to other forms of intangible cultural heritage.
The application is developed by ISL, Institute of Informatics and Telecommunications, NCSR Demokritos, while its content is produced by Ekdotiki Athinon based on the five-volume “Greek Mythology” of I.Th. Kakridi and in the relevant books of the “Greek Art” series.
