The Institute of Informatics and Telecommunications (IIT) has released its Annual Report for the year 2023. The comprehensive document highlights the Institute’s significant achievements, research advancements, and collaborative projects over the past year.
This year’s focus is on Generative AI as Director Dr. Vangelis Karkaletsis emphases in his editorial: the importance of the Institute’s work in driving technological progress and supporting Greece’s digital transformation. IIT is growing fast implementing its strategic plan through a multifaceted approach that aims to promote Research Excellence and Innovation in AI and Telecommunications.
Key achievements noted in the report include breakthroughs in Artificial Intelligence and more specifically the involvement of NCSRD into the first empirical strategic foresight research approach on the use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) in Greece, advancements in digital culture, and notable contributions to telecommunications technology.
