For the 12th consecutive year, the Researchers Night will once again invite Athenians and open the doors to the “Hellenic Cosmos” Cultural Center on Friday, September 29th from 17:00-24:00, with free entrance. Taking part for the fourth year, The Integrated Systems Laboratory of the Institute of Informatics and Telecommunications of NCSR “Demokritos”, will be there, ready to greet children and adults for this celebration of science and research. The Laboratory’s exhibits and interactive apps will be located on the 1st floor of the building.
«iRescue»: A digital rescue gaming played by using the Kinect console. Can you save the world from the fire using only your body movements?
«iGuide – Knossos»: ΤWhat do you know about Knossos? What did the palace actually look like? This three dimensional digital tour in a virtual reality (VR) environment, iGuide Knossos, transports the “visitor” to another era.
«SMARΤcamp»: What are the basic principles of animation? How can I implement scenarios for a robots movement? How do objects move remotely only with the power of the mind? The professors of the Robotics and Digital Arts SMARTcamp workshops for children aged 12-18 will answer these questions throughout the duration of the classes.
