The COSMOS. Cultural Osmosis – Mythology & Art project, led by Dr Stelios C.A Thomopoulos, ISL was completed in December 2021. ISL research collaborators created a project video presenting its evolution, from concept to the final product development.

The COSMOS app is an extendable assets repository that contains Greek Mythology texts and their depictions in Art and displays the relations among different myths and artworks. The significant knowledge gained from the methodology implemented into the COSMOS data organisation and presentation systems development can pave the way for the conservation of voluminous archive collections.
COSMOS app can be used a) by the average reader to gather information and deepen their knowledge, b) by teachers as a support tool to further engage students in the digital era, c) as a reference tool (produced by research, offered to research anew) in the field of the Social Sciences and the Humanities, and d) as a scientific documentation tool and an artworks database by cultural institutions for the organisation of exhibitions and other events.
COSMOS was co‐financed by the European Union and Greek national funds through the Operational Program Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, under the call RESEARCH – CREATE – INNOVATE (project code: Τ1EDK-04283).
