The Wireless Communications (WiCom) Lab (Institute of Informatics and Telecommunications, NCSR “D”), the Materials Science Sector (Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, NCSR “D”), the National Technical University of Athens and Loughborough University, presented 2 joint research works in the 10th Loughborough Antennas & Propagation Conference (LAPC 2014), held on 10-11 November 2014 in Loughborough, UK. The papers were entitled “Reconfigurable Proximity Coupled Patch Antenna Using Magnetic Bias” and “Properties of Aluminum-Substituted YIG with Applications in Tunable Notched UWB Antennas”. The work of both publications has been supported by the “MAGELLAN” research project, funded by “THALIS” Research Programme of Greek Ministry of Education, Lifelong Learning and Religious Affairs in the framework of NSRF 2007-2013.
Two more papers were presented in the same conference as a result of joint research work between WiCom Lab and Loughborough University Electronic and Electrical Engineering Department. The papers were entitled “Evaluation of a Realized Hollow Torso Phantom for Wearable Antenna Measurements” and “Investigation of Wearable Antennas Performance in Static LOS and NLOS On-Body Channels”. Both works have been funded under the auspices of Loughborough University and the National Centre for Scientific Research “Demokritos” in the frame of the bilateral PhD agreement.
