The Institute of Informatics & Telecommunications (IIT) has set up its new Advisory Board, composed by five distinguished researchers in fields relevant to IIT research areas. Advisory Board members will provide expert advice on issues related to the Institute's strategic goals, scientific and technological priorities.
During the last 4 months, our labs have been quite busy with new projects kicking off (AI4EU, ExtremeEarth, INFORE, IS-ENES3, EN.I.R.I.S.S.T.). An important collaboration was set up between MNL Lab and the City of Aegaleo in Attica which is to be used as a pilot in the H2020 project 5GENESIS. Net Media Lab celebrated the Graduation Ceremony for the first academic cycle of the joint MSc program in ICTs & Special Education with the Democritus University of Thrace.
IIT Labs are also co-organising international summer schools (European School of Antennas, Athens Natural Language Processing Summer School) and scientific events (Big Data for Precision Medicine Symposium, DARE clustering event) that will be held during the coming months.
This is a very productive period for our Institute with more initiatives to come and challenges to meet!
With my best wishes
Dr. Vangelis Karkaletsis, Director, Institute of Informatics & Telecommunications
