Name:
Novel Metamaterials for Patch Antennas Applications
Acronym:
ESA META-PATCHES

The main goal of the project is to investigate the development of novel metamaterials produced by means of natural mechanisms and their application in patch antennas.
Specific objectives are:

  • Development of self-assembled metamaterials with tailored properties suitable for use in patch antennas;
  • Demonstrating feasibility of fabricating patch antennas using self-assembled metamaterials;
  • Extraction of conclusions to pave the way for extended investigation of the proposed antennas and variations of the main idea.

The project is funded by ESA/ESTEC and realized by two research teams of Institute of Informatics & Telecommunications and Institute of Materials Science, NCSR "Demokritos".
