FocusLocus MARINE-EO and CYCISE: The 3 new funded projects for the Integrated Systems Laboratory (ISL)

The Integrated Systems Laboratory (ISL) of the Institute of Informatics and Telecommunications of NCSR Demokritos is pleased to announce the funding of 3 new projects under the Horizon2020 and DG MARE Framework.
ISL has the leading role of the coordinator in these projects, namely: FocusLocus, MARINE-EO, and CYCISE.
FocusLocus is a H2020 Innovation Action (IA) project that aspires to develop a gamified intervention programme for the management of Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) conditions. It brings together a multidisciplinary consortium of partners aiming to design and produce market-oriented products and services for ADHD management by leveraging knowledge and technology from previous research and innovation activities and applying cutting edge technology. The consortium is coordinated by the Integrated Systems Laboratory of IIT at NCSR Demokritos and is composed of 5 partners: The National Centre for Scientific Research “Demokritos” (EL), Cortechs Connect (IE), Virtualware 2007 SA (ES), Health Service Executive (IE) and Cognitive Systems Research Institute (EL).
MARINE-EO is a H2020 PCP project that focuses on “Maritime Awareness” a top priority for Europe . “Awareness” sought either with regards to maritime security, border control against irregular immigration and safety of navigation, or sought in regards with the marine environment and climate change. MARINE – EO engages a group of 5 maritime authorities and a group of 4 prestigious scientific and technical organizations with significant experience in Earth Observation (EO) and maritime matters. Project Coordinator is TheNational Centre For Scientific Research “Demokritos” (EL), and the Partners are: Direcao – Geral De Politica Do Mar (PT), Ministerio Del Interior (ES), Hellenic Centre For Marine Research (EL), Fundo Regional para a Ciencia (PT), Kystverket – Norwegian Coastal Administration (NO), National Observatory Of Athens (EL), European Union Satellite Centre (ES), Norsk Marinteknisk Forskningsinstitutt AS (NO).
CYCISE is a DG MARE funded project aiming at the development of the Cypriot information sharing environment towards an integrated national maritime surveillance awareness, compliant with the overall European CISE vision. The project is consistent with existing regional information exchange systems operated by involved maritime authorities and complementary with the innovations developed within the FP7/EUCISE2020 project enhancing the national Cypriot capabilities which are required in order to complement and re-use the overall EU developments. CY CISE leverages on Hellenic CISE developments, uses them as background knowledge and goes one step forward. The Consortium is coordinated by the Integrated Systems Laboratory of IIT at NCSR Demokritos and is composed of 4 partners: National Centre for Scientific Research “Demokritos” (EL), Cypriot Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works-Department of Merchant Shipping (CY), Hellenic Ministry of Defence (EL), University of Cyprus (CY).
