  • September 20, 2024 till September 20, 2024

On the 26th and 27th of March 2014, SKEL welcomed eighty (80) 12-year-old students from “I.M.Panagiotopoulos” primary school at the NCSR-D Innovation Exhibition, in the frame of the project “C2Learn”. During the visit, the students had the opportunity to discover the exciting world of robotics through talks and interactive games.
Dr Vangelis Karkaletsis talked to the students about the research activities of NCSR-D; Dr Stasinos Konstantopoulos gave an overview of the activities of Roboskel; Andreas Lydakis and Giorgos Stavrinos explained their experiments on autonomy assisted robot operation and Michalis Papakostas explained his experiments on affective interaction.
Following the talks, the students watched a documentary about the achievements of Robotics and interacted with two robots; talking and asking questions to the “Demokritos” android and navigating the “Sek” rover through a maze.
Moreover, Giannis Mouchakis showed the students around the Innovation Exhibition. Students were really enthusiastic about the visit and some of them look forward to having a robot teaching history to them as they told to Giorgos Kalampokinis and Maria Dagioglou who debriefed them on their visit!
