“Ariadne’s Journey” is an audio-visual experience, which combines innovative techniques of projection mapping with 2D/3D animation, while set to an original musical score. Between cinematic narrative and installation art, viewers of all ages are invited to experience an adventure in three dimensions.
Ariadne leaves behind city life to explore an imaginary world made up of images both familiar and strange, where mythology, archaeology, and a dreamlike universe entangle within a colourful puzzle of fantasy and curiosity. Ancient ruins begin transforming, frescoes come to life and an awe-inspiring presence awaits its revelation.
An Integrated Systems Laboratory production of the Institute of Informatics and Telecommunications of NCSR “Demokritos”, presents a hybrid intersection of Virtual Reality and Projection Mapping that broadens horizons for exploring the possibilities and uses of digital reconstitution, alongside original storytelling onto a physical construction. The real world augments digitally, immersing the audience into a unique aesthetic experience..
Before the screening, a short introduction of iGuide Knossos, a virtual reality cultural guide, will take place.
The screening premiere will take place during the Athens Science Festival 2018 on 25 & 26 April. More info here.
Additionally more screenings will take place on 2 & 3 May at the NCSR “Demokritos” central auditorium. More info at the Facebook Event.
