The Institute of Informatics and Telecommunications, NCSR Demokritos participates again at the Athens Science Festival 2019.
Artificial Intelligence (AI), the meeting point of a range of sciences and technological sectors, has already demonstrated its powers through a wide array of applications all over the human endeavor spectrum. It is expected to keep having an exponentially growth and deepening impact in our lives. What kind of developments are foreseen in the coming years? What fields are expected to be affected the most? How reliable are all those voices talking about threats and risks from AI? How do we envisage a society where human and machine intelligence co-exist and collaborate? Our expert panelists will discuss these issues and help us understand what is at stake, under a clear and cool light.
What phantasmagoria is this? The science festivity seems endless: From the big bang and the distant quasars to the unique nanomaterials and the marvelous DNA, social phenomena and intelligence, science seems to be an exciting language that can explain everything with certainty and – why not – with authority. But is that the case? Does our whole world and our lives fit in science? If not, what are the limits of science and how do they interact with the society, i.e. with all of us? If these questions are yours too, join our discussion.
The Integrated Systems Laboratory of NCSR “Demokritos”, will develop the wayGoo application for the Athens Science Festival, aiming at optimizing a visitors experience throughout the festival.
