The Institute of Informatics & Telecommunications participated in the 60th Summer School of NCSR Demokritos, held from 7 to 11 July 2025 at the Centre’s premises at Agia Paraskevi, Attiki.

On Tuesday 8 July, researchers from IIT presented their work, as every year, in the main auditorium of the Conference Centre, focusing on Artificial Intelligence, education, and emerging future technologies, opening a vibrant and thought-provoking field of dialogue.

Dr Dimitris Kyriazanos, Senior Researcher and Head of the Integrated Systems Laboratory (ISL) at ΙΙΤ, opened the session with a presentation titled “Education and Postgraduate Research at the Institute of Informatics and Telecommunications”.

Among the total presentations delivered by IIT researchers, some were part of European research projects:

Throughout the 60th Summer School, undergraduate and postgraduate students with a background in science and technology, had the opportunity to:

  • attend inspiring lectures delivered by researchers from all Institutes of NCSRD, as well as by renowned scientists from international universities;
  • explore the Centre’s cutting-edge research laboratories through guided visits;
  • engage in thought-provoking scientific dialogues during interactive Round Table sessions with experienced scientists from NCSRD;
  • connect with young researchers from NCSRD, who showcased their work in daily poster presentations;
  • enhance their personal and professional development through soft skills workshops and mentoring sessions;
  • gain valuable information about pursuing postgraduate studies and explore scholarship opportunities offered by various national institutions.

Within the framework of the summer school, on Wednesday 9 July, there was also a guided tour at the anechoic chamber, at the premises of the Institute of Informatics & Telecommunications, giving at the participants a very interesting exprerience.
