For the first time, a team of colleagues from the Institute of Informatics & Telecommunications at NCSR Demokritos came together to participate in a major running event, joining 25,000 runners.
The team made its debut at the 13th Athens Half Marathon, on Sunday 9 March 2025, with over 30 colleagues running together, including the Institute’s Director, Dr. Vangelis Karkaletsis.
A total of 31 colleagues took part, with 20 competing in the 5km race and 11 in the 21km race.
Several team members achieved remarkable times in both distances, demonstrating that dedication and teamwork can lead to impressive results. More importantly, everyone embraced the race with enthusiasm, enjoying the incredible atmosphere and unique experience.
