The purpose of the conference is the timely information and preparation of the research and innovation ecosystem and the local authorities to take advantage of the opportunities that will arise through the actions of the mission CLIMATE-NEUTRAL & SMART CITIES.
The CLIMATE-NEUTRAL & SMART CITIES mission – HORIZON EUROPE – is a European Commission initiative aimed at finding sustainable solutions through research and innovation on the greatest challenges facing humanity. The significance of this mission is crucial, as more than half of the world’s inhabitants live in urban areas, with a projected rate of 80% by 2050. Cities and metropolitan areas are centres of economic activity, knowledge production, innovation, and new technologies, influencing the quality of life and working conditions of their residents and making a significant contribution to global challenges.
