Dr. George Paliouras, Head of the Division of Intelligent Information Systems at the Institute of Informatics & Telecommunications participated as a panellist at the Panhellenic Conference “Building synergies for a sustainable health system” on the celebratory occasion of 40 Years of the Greek NHS.
Dr. Paliouras was an invited speaker at the round table session titled The Importance of DATA in shaping policies on rare diseases, in which he participated along with other distinguished speakers from the health research field.
The conference which has been a major leader in health economics, health policy and health services research in Greece, with a remarkable impact on the country’s health policies for nearly two decades. Participants included of a wide range of health system stakeholders, leading health policy and social science academics and researchers, health professionals, patient representatives, health insurance and regulatory agencies, scientific organisations, senior government officials and politicians – from the national as well as the international setting.
The conference was realised between 5 – 7 December 2023 in Athens. The conference was organised by the Hellenic Society of Health Economics and Policy (EEEOPY) and the Institute for Health Economics (i-hecon).
