Dr Giorgos Giannakopoulos, researcher at INSANE group of the Institute of Informatics and Telecommunications (IIT), and co-founder of SciFY, and Ms Eleni Tsatsaroni, researcher at IIT and member of ahedd DIH (NCSR Demokritos), participated in a panel discussion held in the framework of the 22nd Thessaloniki International Book Fair, titled “Ζώντας στο αλγοριθμικό παρόν: εξουσία, αντίσταση και ανθρώπινη εμπειρία στην εποχή της τεχνητής νοημοσύνης”, organised by ROPI Publications.

The discussion explored the societal and cultural implications of artificial intelligence and algorithmic systems in contemporary life, focusing on their impact on knowledge, work, and human experience in the digital era. The exchange drew on the authors’ respective works, including Giorgos Giannakopoulos’ Τεχνητή Νοημοσύνη: Μια διακριτική απομυθοποίηση and Eleni Tsatsaroni’s translation of Algorithms of Resistance, contributing to broader reflections on AI, power structures, and algorithmic governance in society.
The researchers contributed to an open exchange of ideas on the evolving relationship between artificial intelligence and human experience in the algorithmic present.
