On the 12th of July 2017 the Open Market Consultation Event of the Marine-EO PCP project which is coordinated by the Integrated Systems Laboratory of the Institute of Informatics and Telecommunications of NCSR Demokritos, was successfully held in Lisbon. The dissemination partners FRCT and NCSRD organized the event which was hosted by the PCP leader partner DGPM in the premises of IPMA (Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere). The Project Coordinator Dr. Stelios C.A. Thomopoulos from the National Center for Scientific Research “Demokritos” gave an opening speech about the project its purpose and the objectives, followed by the presentations of the Consortium members and Nereus representatives.
The objective of this event was to inform and also take feedback by the stakeholders. What EO services are requested for development and for which areas, what the PCP process is, what could be the composition of the consortia are some of the main areas that were covered. Marine-EO is the first PCP on Earth Observation services and through this event the Consortium welcomed all representatives from different organizations of the Industry to give a 5-minute presentation and showcase their expertise. The Q&A section proved very fruitful triggering further discussions addressing significant issues that were eventually clarified.
A match-making tool was created as a result of this event facilitating the process of shaping new synergies and consortia among the interested parts.
