About the instructors
Alexandros Nousias is a Research Associate at the Institute of Informatics & Telecommunications of NCSR-D in Digital and AI law, governance and ethics. He consults research organisations and tech companies in the context of research and real market projects. In Academia, Alexandros is lead instructor of the Applied Ethics module in the context of MSc in AI at University of Piraeus, and MSc in Data Science at the University of Peloponnese. Additionally he lectures at several other universities, while serving as trainer and mentor for corporates and startups. As a technical consultant to the High-Level Advisory Committee on Artificial Intelligence for the Prime Minister, Alexandros contributed to drafting the “Blueprint for Greece’s AI Transformation.” He also actively contributes to the National Commission for Bioethics and Technoethics and serves as a Technical Representative at the Standards Working Group under the EU AI Board. Finally, Alexandros is an IEEE CertifAIEd AI Ethics Lead Assessor. He lectures on topics related AI ethics in the context of the two interdepartamental Masters of Science of IIT (MSc in AI, MSc in Data Science).
Allison Fisher is a seasoned leader and educator with a passion for agile learning and ethical AI and over 20 years of expertise in leadership, curriculum design, instruction, and building and scaling training programs. After spending 15 years in academia as a university professor and Dean, she transitioned to the field of AI, working with clients to integrate AI applications into education programs, and then as the Head of AI Academy, building an AI Academy from scratch in 18 months, resulting in large-scale training initiatives for renowned companies. Dr. Fisher’s steadfast commitment to ethical AI and transformative education positions her as a dedicated advocate in shaping the future of technology.
About IEEE CertifAIEd™ Assessor Training
As AI evolves rapidly, ensuring its responsible development and use becomes crucial. Organisations tasked with deploying technologies with embedded or hosted AI systems require the means to properly assess the ethical AI concerns and considerations to ensure stakeholders and end-users are treated fairly in the most trustworthy manner possible.
This training program enables participants to understand the need for ethical AIS, the principles surrounding AI ethics criteria, and provides an implementable framework and methodology for assessing the ethicality of AI-enabled systems.
Participants also learn the IEEE CertifAIEd™ methodology and how to apply it to an AIS assessment (e.g., assessment of a product that utilises AI algorithms or techniques).
About the ALIGN project, organiser of the trainings
The Project primarily focuses on the implementation of technical protocols and standards for ethical and legal compliance of AI systems and models, with the IEEE CertifAIEd protocol at the core, as well as any related or derivative protocols. Additionally, in collaboration with IEEE, the Project provides training services on the IEEE CertifAIEd standard. Upon completion of the training, participants will have the opportunity, through a relevant examination process conducted by IEEE, to become certified IEEE AI Ethics Assessors.
