We are delighted to announce that the Application Design & Development Team of the eGovernance Office of NCSR Demokritos received the second place in the Digital Governance Awards for the year 2022, as “Best Practice Idea” in the category of “Public Administration, Local Self- Government and Justice”.

The team participated in the competition with the RIview platform, which supported the evaluation process of Research Institutes across the country and was implemented by the General Secretariat for Research and Innovation, for the period 2018-2021.

The award is accompanied by a symbolic cash prize, which by joint decision of all team members will be shared equally, and where one part will be given to support the needs of the daily meal of about 80 of fellow human beings, the Church of Agios Georgios Korydallos Holy Metropolis of Nicaea, and a second part will be given at the Parents’ Association of Children with Cancer “Floga”, where families of children from the province are hosted, during their treatments at the General Children’s Hospital of Athens Panagiotis and Aglaia Kyriakou.

This award comes as a recognition of the great effort that has been made lately by all teams of the e-Government office in the field of digital “transformation” of NCSR Demokritos.

The Ministry of Digital Governance has launched the first Digital Governance Awards competition for the public sector, which will be held annually from now on. The competition is being organised by the General Secretariat for Digital Governance and Simplification of Procedures, with the support of the National Documentation Centre (EKT).

The purpose of the competition is to reward civil servants and public officials who, through their actions and ideas, have contributed to the digital transformation of the Greek Public Administration sector and to the improvement of the provision of public services for citizens. Eligible for participation are public bodies or civil servants and public officials, who have designed or implemented, either collectively or individually, innovative applications, on the one hand for the digital transformation and the improvement of Public Administration and on the other for raising awareness and providing information on important issues related to the digital strategy of the country.
