The Net Media Lab & Mind-Brain R&D organised the Online Conference of the Erasmus+ Project ROBOTICS4DEAF, which was held online on Friday 26 November 2021. The main aim of the event was the presentation of the project and its results.
More than 90 people attended the event, titled Educational Robotics, STEM, 21st Century Skills in the Service of Special Education Teachers and Inclusion, which lasted 3 hours. The audience consisted of parents, General and Special Education Teachers, Psychologists and other stakeholders.
In the first part, Dr Athanasios Drigas, Research Director of Net Media Lab & Mind-Brain R&D, IIT, NCSR Demokritos, made a presentation in regard to the activities of NCSR Demokritos and Net Media Lab, followed by an overview of the ROBOTICS4DEAF project. Mr Valantis Kefalis, MSc Physicist, Scientific Associate of Net Media Lab and Mr Yannis Papagerasimou, Collaborating Researcher of Net Media Lab presented in detail all four Intellectual Outputs, results and activities.
The second part of the event was devoted to a discussion about the role of metacognitive abilities, 21st-century skills, and educational robotics in special education, which was moderated by Dr Athanasios Drigas, Head of NML & Mind, and with the participation of members of the audience who actively engaged in this discussion.
The Intellectual Outputs and products of the project are specifically the following:
