Software and Knowledge Engineering Laboratory (SKEL Lab) of the Institute of Informatics and Telecommunications, NCSR “Demokritos” participates in the new research project “StoryBot” that has been awarded by GOOGLE’s Digital News Initiative.
StoryBot aims to develop a news bot that will assist professionals in performing journalistic tasks and synthesize them into a single application, without the need to change working environment or use different applications for each task. Apart from the creative parts of writing and editing a story, the process will be highly automated so that it can be performed quickly and with minimal intervention and effort by journalists. In this way, the journalists can have a set of ready-made sources on a subject of interest, already verified and categorized, which they can use to write, edit and publish a story.
