BioASQ held its 12thWorkshop on 9 and 10 September 2024, at the Université Grenoble Alpes (UGA) co-located with the CLEF 2024 conference, which took place from 9 to 12 September 2024 in Grenoble, France.
Dr. Anastasia Krithara and Dr. Anastasios Nentidis of the Institute of Informatics & Telecommunications at NCSR “Demokritos” attended CLEF2024, with Dr. Krithara chairing the Workshop, while Dr. Nentidis presented the overview of the 12th edition of BioASQ Workshop.
Professor Eric Gaussier from the Université Grenoble Alpes gave an invited talk during the workshop, titled “Generalisation and Deep Neural Networks: The Case of NLP and IR”.
Furthermore, an award ceremony followed the invited talk, where the BioASQ Challenge winners were announced.
The aim of the BioASQ Workshop is to push the research frontier towards systems that use the diverse and voluminous information available online to respond directly to the information needs of biomedical scientists. During the workshop, the results of the open BioASQ Challenge will also be presented.
