For another year, the Institute of Informatics & Telecommunication participated in the biggest event of Greece, the 88th Thessaloniki International Fair, which was held from 7 to 15 September 2024, in Thessaloniki, Greece.

More specifically, the Institute’s team (Vangelis Karkaletsis, Lefteris Koukianakis, Elena Galifianaki, Panagiotis Kaddas and Vassilis Gatos) were actively participated in talks, panel discussions, demonstrations, and interactive exhibits, while the work conducted in the frame of AI4Europe, the AI-on-Demand Platform was also showcased to interested visitors. IIT was located at Pavilion 7, under the General Secretariat of Research and Innovation.

The Institute kicked off with the talk by Dr. Vangelis Karkaletsis, Director of the Institute of Informatics & Telecommunications, at the main event of the General Secretariat for Research and Innovation (GSRI), focusing on Research, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship, where he discussed Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation.

This year’s Thessaloniki International Fair focused on the country’s modern challenges and critical sectors of the economy, emphasising to new technological tools, innovation, and sustainable development. With the dynamic presence of the country’s political forces, honouring the Federal Republic of Germany, hosting numerous B2B and B2C events, as well as a variety of entertainment activities for the public, the 88th TIF welcomed the exhibitors and visitors to the city’s biggest celebration.
