Alkis Astyakopoulos is an Urban Planner & Regional Developer (M.Eng. University of Thessaly, 2007) and his expertise is in GeoInformatics (MSc. National Technical University of Athens, 2009) including in particular GIS, spatial databases, Spatial Data Infrastructures (SDI), spatial analysis, forest fire management, geomarketing, location-allocation modelling, urban & regional planning and operational development plans.He has taken part in several national and European co-funded projects working as Project Manager and/or Technical Consultant covering activities of EU Innovation Project & Financial Management (H2020, FP7, ICT/PSP, ICT/SME, LIFE+, ESA), Business Development and R&D proposal writing (H2020, EASME, EuropeAid, EIB, EBRD, NSRF, GSRT) and consulting services in the fields of GIS, spatial databases, INSPIRE/OGC standardization.
