Angelos Kremyzas holds a diploma in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the National and Technical University of Athens and a MSc in Game & Media Technology from Utrecht University. His diploma thesis involved the development of a decision support tool for the risk assessment of EU countries with respect to energy supply. For the implementation of the tool Java, JavaScript and JavaServer Pages were used. In his Master thesis he introduced the Social Groups and Navigation (SGN) method which is an hierarchical agent-based method for the simulation of social groups that navigate virtual environments and improves upon state-of-the-art vision-based collision-avoidance. For the implementation and publication of the method C++ and C# were used. His research and development interests include path planning, crowd simulation and game technologies. He has previously worked as a scientific programmer at the Virtual Worlds Division, Department of Information and Computing Sciences, Utrecht University. Currently he works as a research associate in the Integrated Systems Laboratory of the Institute of Informatics and Telecommunications, National Center for Scientific Research “Demokritos”.
