Postdoctoral researcher at NCSR-D working on projects related to artificial intelligence and deep learning. Expert in representation learning, transfer learning and generative modelling, holding a PhD from the University of Peloponnese (fellowship awarded by the “Industrial Scholarships Program” of Stavros Niarchos Foundation). His dissertation on information fusion with deep learning earned him a nomination for EETN Best Dissertation Award 2022. Experienced in various European research projects as an associate researcher, software developer and project manager. His notable achievements include winning the “Best Demo — People’s Choice” award in ISWC 2017 for his work on the H2020 Big Data Europe SC5 pilot. Passionate about developing innovative, impactful, and interdisciplinary solutions for real-world problems using deep learning and artificial intelligence. He is currently a member of the AI Politeia Lab at NCSR-D, a group that explores the ethical, social, and policy implications of AI-driven innovation. Formerly, he was part of the Intelligent Data-Intensive Systems at NCSR-D, a group specialising in intelligent e-infrastructures, deep learning, and big data solutions to support cross-disciplinary scientific research.
