Dr Charilaos C ZARAKOVITIS (male) received the BSc degree from the Technical University of Crete, Greece, in 2003, the MSc and GCR.Eng degrees from the Dublin Institute of Technology, Ireland, in 2004 and 2005, and the MPhil and PhD degrees from Brunel University, London, UK, in 2006 and 2012, respectively, all in electronic engineering. In Academia, he has worked as Senior Researcher or Research Associate with the (i) School of Computing and Communications (Infolab21), Lancaster University, UK, (ii) Institute for Communication Systems (5GIC), University of Surrey, Guildford, UK, (iii) Institute of Informatics and Telecommunications (MNL), National Centre for Scientific Research “Demokritos”, Greece, and (iv) Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of the University of West Attica, Greece. In Industry, he has worked as Research Engineer in the R&D departments of MOTOROLA, Swindon, UK, INTRACOM S.A, Athens, Greece and NOKIA-SIEMENS-NETWORKS, Bristol, UK. His main research interests include Quantum Neural Networks, Machine and Deep learning, green communications modelling, bioinspired and game-theoretic decision-making, cognitive radios, network virtualisation, statistical signal processing, and convex optimisation analysis, among others.
