Konstantinos George Thanos holds a diploma in physics and a MSc degree in Electronic Automation, with honors (1st graduated in his class), from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (UOA). His master thesis regards video content searching algorithms on the web, using H.264 compression. During his graduate studies Mr. Thanos distinguished in the course of Automation Control and worked in the physics department of UOA as a teaching assistant in the undergraduate course “Introduction in Automation Control”. After graduate he worked on “MEMSENSE” project in National and Technical University of Athens (NTUA), providing research and software development services for the realization of microcontroller software for energy consumption control of an energy harvesting system. Mr Thanos has worked as a freelancer providing software regarding gesture recognition, motion detection, and mobile applications. Currently he is a PhD candidate in the department of Electrical Engineering in NTUA and a research associate in the Integrated Systems Laboratory (ISL) in NCSR “Demokritos” where he works on human identification and tracking algorithms using face and other biometrics, and statistical modeling of human cognition for intelligent agents.
