Michail Bampatsikos is a Ph.D. candidate with a Stavros Niarchos Foundation scholarship, and a researcher at the Institute of Informatics and Telecommunications (Integrated Systems Laboratory). His Ph.D. is focused on intellectual property rights and healthcare data management using Blockchains. Previously Michail worked as an assistant researcher at the Surrey Centre of Cyber Security of the University of Surrey in the United Kingdom, as well as a developer for two IT firms in Greece. He obtained his BSc in Computer Science from the Technological Educational Institute of Lamia and his postgraduate degree MSc Information Security from the University of Surrey. His main research interests are: (a) Information security and user privacy protection, (b) Cryptography and multimedia security, (c) Development of applications that use Blockchains, (d) Penetration Testing as well as network and application security evaluation.
