Semagrow researchers from NCSR “Demokritos” (Greece) and the Semantic Web Company (Austria) participated in the LinkedDataEurope Workshop, co-organized by a number of European projects relevant to big data and the data value chain. LinkedDataEurope provided a focused venue for academic and industrial discussions on the readily available arsenal of tools, systems and best practices that support the entire lifecycle of Linked Data and to demonstrate specific use cases in data intensive domains. The workshop took place on March 21th in the context of the European Data Forum (EDF 2014, Athens, 19-20 March 2014), the primary European meeting place for industry, research, policymakers and community initiatives to discuss the challenges of Big Data and the emerging Data Economy and to develop suitable action plans for addressing these challenges.
Stasinos Konstantopoulos (NCSR-D) presented the Semagrow use cases and architecture and Jürgen Jakobitsch (SWC) and Angelos Charalambidis (NCSR-D) demonstrated the Semagrow Stack prototype, attracting considerable interest from stakeholders in the agricultural data value chain and from academic participants researching big data and distributed data management technologies.
