Two of the newly acquired research projects from IIT Labs kicked off in December 2020.
On December, 1st, the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovative Training Networks project META WIRELESS: Future Wireless Communications Empowered by Reconfigurable Intelligent Meta-Materials kicked off with the aim of investigating high-frequency meta-surface designs with increased bandwidth capabilities and ability to operate at different bands. The project is coordinated by WiCom Lab with Dr. Fotis Lazarakis as the scientific responsible.
During a two-day kick off meeting (10 – 11 of December) the VAST: Values Across Space and Time project team, with scientific responsible Dr. George Petasis, initiated work. The project is funded by the EU H2020 programme and is one of the projects that SKEL Lab coordinates in the cultural domain. VAST aims to bring values to the forefront in the field of advanced digitization. It will study the transformation of values such as freedom, democracy and equality across space and time, taking advantage of digitized elements of tangible and intangible cultural heritage.
