The YouthGovAI project was presented at the European Festival of Civic Education: HOPE, held in Oslo, Norway, 1–7 September 2025. The festival, organised within the framework of the NECE – Networking European Civic Education initiative, brings together stakeholders from civil society, academia, politics, media and culture to exchange ideas on civic education and democratic participation.
Dora Katsamori, researcher at the Institute of Informatics and Telecommunications (IIT), NCSR Demokritos, and Scientific Coordinator of the YouthGovAI project, participated in the event and presented the objectives and activities of the project. The discussions provided an opportunity to highlight the importance of engaging young people in conversations about artificial intelligence and governance, as well as the role of civic education in strengthening youth participation in shaping Europe’s digital future.

The NECE Festival serves as an interactive and interdisciplinary platform where participants explore new perspectives on democracy, citizenship and education through discussions, workshops and collaborative activities. Within this context, the participation of YouthGovAI contributed to the broader dialogue on empowering young people to actively engage in debates on emerging technologies and their societal impact.
